Bronny James Medically Cleared, Opts to Remain in 2024 NBA Draft

Brooklyn, NY – Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA star LeBron James, has been medically cleared to participate in the 2024 NBA Draft after recovering from a cardiac arrest he suffered last July. The 19-year-old, who played for the USC Trojans, averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in his freshman season.

James' return was marked by a procedure to correct a congenital heart defect, allowing him to resume basketball activities in November. Despite a challenging season, he showcased his potential and declared for the NBA Draft on April 5 while maintaining his college eligibility and entering the NCAA transfer portal .

As the draft approaches, James remains a highly watched prospect, with hopes of joining the NBA and potentially playing alongside his father. LeBron James has expressed his desire to share the court with his son, adding to the anticipation surrounding Bronny's professional debut.
